For our kickoff interview in the JPAR® WELL series, Laura O’Connor, President and COO of JPAR Brokerage, sits down with Shannon Ashkinos, Vice President of Connection and Career Success and JPAR Brokerage, to talk about her most recent volunteer position as the President of the 5,000 member Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors.
Shannon shares her insights as an influential industry leader on the importance of making connections and empowering others to reach their full potential.

Shannon’s superpower strength is in building a continuous improvement organization where she focuses on bringing together people with a commitment to growth; she helps them rise up to meet their full potential. She talks about the opportunities in our current market and through 2023; we’re showcasing the professionalism of real estate agents, better articulating the value they provide to buyers and sellers, and investing in deeper, more meaningful connections to help shape the way the industry evolves.
Shannon brings with her over 27 years of real estate experience as not only a REALTOR®, but also as a Broker Associate. She has participated and volunteered throughout the years at GFWAR in many different roles and on various committees. Most recently, she served on the technology, Professional Development, MLS committees as well as being a member with the Board of directors for four years. In 2016, she was presented with the Marie & Dayton Sheridan REALTOR® Spirit Award for her enthusiastic involvement in the profession, the association, and the community.
Shannon, certified by TREC as a CE instructor, is also an approved trainer with faculty at Texas REALTORS®. She has put together training and technology classes not only for GFWAR but also in her role at JPAR® – Real Estate as Vice President of Connections and Career Success. Her focus is on education and career development of new and experienced agents helping them to drive their productivity to even higher levels and reach their goals.
Shannon says that outside of Real Estate, her absolute greatest passion and biggest blessing is speaking and leading women’s studies through the Bible. Shannon is married to Howard, who has led their team and been in real estate with her since the beginning in 1995. They have three grown children raising their own families, all of which they are very proud of.
